13' Tenkara Rod DAIWA-NEO-LT39SC made of 93% High Modulus Graphite Carbon.
This rod has been designed and produced by DAIWA INC. at their own factory in China using their own best Design, Engineering and Technology. This latest technology includes HVF High Density Graphite Carbon, Mega Top Solid pike, Ring sticking prevention, V-joint. This is a brand new 391cm Medium-Light Action Tenkara rod, extra-light weight, 105g, easy to carry and for backpacking, collapsed size 41cm, small to fit comfortably for backpacking. 12 telescopic sections extends from a closed length of 16.4in to 13ft. This rod has been developed using a 93% Higher Modulus Graphite Carbon materials manufactured in Japan, using Japanese Design, Engineering and Technology by DAIWA SEIKO INC. Rods are made from three-ply carbon fibre, which requires even tighter tolerances than the aircraft industry. Each layer of the rod is perfect, made of carbon fibre cloth, which is pre-impregnated with resin and stored in a refrigeration unit. The carbon fibre cloth is cut to pattern, wrapped round a steel mandrel and wrapped around it with a cellophane tape. It's hung in like this in an oven to cook. After the mandrel is removed, then the cellophane. It's cut to size, sanded, painted with High-class paint that make the rod elegance and noblest and the handle is added. Then it's ringed and varnished. The aluminum stopper under cork is better covered call for HVF carbon.

Tenkara Rod is designed to use without a reel, just line and fly.
Last section has strong braid Lillian string connected to the tip with a little metal sleeve, designed as extremely small swivel, which allows the Lillian rotate by 360 degrees without line twist.
This string greatly enhances the sensitivity of the pole for detecting slightest strikes.

Rod is made of HVF carbon fiber compound manufactured in Japan by DAIWA with less resin, make it more condensed, more light weight and feature a faster action. Mega Top - DAIWA has developed a special full carbon fiber material, which features an absolute balanced distribution of the fibers – the special solid tip is almost unbreakable, involving 1.5 times higher strength. The carbon fibers are uniformly dispersed, showing a similar bend in any direction by 360 degrees with little variation. V-joint - DAIWA made BIOAS carbon fiber material which follows a 45-degree angle and offer thereby higher strain resistance and a better smoothly bending curve, allows all joints to flex more, greatly reduces power loss, significantly added speed tension power for return, minimizing the vacuum spots of the rod curve at the joints where two sections overlap each other and a rod act like a one-piece construction. Ring sticking prevention - DAIWA made it possible to prevent stuck sections by creating an air layer at the end of each section.

Tenkara is the traditional Japanese method of fly-fishing, which uses only a rod, furled or level line, tippet and a fly. The joy of Tenkara fishing is the simplicity.

Tenkara rods could be comparable to most medium-light rods used in cone pole fishing and in fly-fishing and are considered slow action, or soft action rods. Tenkara Action describes how many bottom sections are stiffer and how many tip sections are more flexible when pressure is put on the tip of the rod. It shows how much the rod can bend and how quickly it can return to its neutral position. The construction material and construction method of a rod affects the stiffness of the blank, the blank’s ability to react and therefore its action. Flexibility and Medium Light Action allows you to see the most delicate and sensitive fish bites. Power helps you actually fight the big fighter and land it much quicker that with other rods.
'ML' - Medium Light - 7:3 indicates 7 bottom sections are stiffer and 3 tip sections more flexible. Rods are stiffer, have more precise and more powerful when casting, it is great for a larger fish up to 3kg, and even bigger with some experience.

Daiwa Tenkara Action is a measure of where and how the rod bends; it also describes how many bottom sections are stiffer and how many tip sections are more flexible when pressure is put on the tip of the rod. The middle sections of the LL (5:5) rods bend more than those of the LT rods. The 7:3 rods are a little stiffer than the 5:5, also 7:3 rods have a very smooth and slow transition from the softer tip to the stiffer middle and bottom sections, while the 5:5 rods have a very smooth full flex profile for the whole length of the rod.

The Level Line rods (5:5) are full flex rods with the hollow (stiffer) tip section. The combination of slightly stiffer rod and the stiffer tip make casting a light level line just as accurate as casting a heavier line on a stiffer rod with solid tip like Level/Tapered Line. Even with light line much easier to get tight loop casts with 5:5 rods.
The Level/Tapered Line rods (7:3) are stiff rods with the solid (softer) tip section. The combination of stiffer mid and butt sections and the softer more flexible tip make the casting stroke is extremely smooth. The Level/Tapered Line rods are tip action rods, not the stiff action rods.

You can choose the length of the rod based on the places where you will fish. Longer length allows you to fish in a wide area of the stream, on the other side of the stream or allow you to reach a longer distance without changing the fishing spot. Longer rods will give you better leverage over the line and the fly and require smaller movement by angler to set the hook for effective striking. Using a longer rod will also give you a huge advantage when playing fish, keeping it away from snags.
Medium Light Action Tenkara rods can be used to catch almost all fish, especially they are great for
Bass fishing and
Trout fishing with a dry fly on a streams,
Crappie or
Sunfish fishing on a ponds,
Pike fishing on a rivers.

How to land a fish.
To land a small fish you just need simply raise the rod high to slide fish gently into landing net range. Catching big fish is always very challenging especially with the light tackle. Fighting the large fish is very enjoyable and requires a lot of patience and some knowledge. With a larger fish you will need to follow to a rhythm dictated by the fish, you must keep your rod low, at 45 degrees or less to avoid breaking tip or top sections. Lifting the tip straight up will just encourage the fish to fight harder and to start swimming off at high speed. Try to use sideways pressure, moved rod with the fish, follow the fish movements and kept the rod angle low. Getting the fish from the bottom into open water is a winning half of the battle and once you’ve moved it away from any danger areas, such as reeds ringing an island, you can just keep applying steady pressure until the fish tires. Be patient; just let the fish tire itself and wait until it comes up and takes a gulp of air and then gently slide it over your landing net.
Take a good care of your rod.
Never lift your catch, always play with the fish and use landing net to land it. Never raise your rod high with the large fish, keep your handle angle at about 45 degrees or less. Always
extend and insert telescopic sections very gently, try do not extend them too forcibly, try to keep it off the ground to avoid dirt getting into the joints. Wipe it clean with a cloth before taking it down so you don't jam dirt into the joint, rinse rod with freshwater after using it in saltwater as soon as you can. Always remember to
