Plaice with White Wine Recipe.

Microwave Baked Plaice recipe - A nice, quick microwave recipe for Plaice with white wine. Easy and very fast, could be done in 19 minutes: preparation time: 10 minutes and cooking time: 9 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds Plaice fillets
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 (10-ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 4 green onions, minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Serves/Makes: 4-6

Plaice with White Wine Recipe

How to cook Plaice with White Wine:

  • Place the fillets in salt water and let it soak for 10 minutes.
  • Rinse well under cold running water, drain it well.
  • Arrange fish fillets, rolled or not, side-by-side into a microwave-safe dish.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons (30 mL) butter for 1 minute on 'MAXIMUM' pour over fish.
  • Mix together mushroom slices, minced green onion, salt and pepper, bay leaf and thyme sprinkle over fish.
  • Mix together breadcrumbs, melted butter and paprika sprinkle over fish.
  • Pour white wine all around, not over, fish.
  • Microwave for 6 to 8 minutes on 'MAXIMUM' (700 watts), sprinkling fish with cooking juices after 5 minutes.

Notes:

How to fillet flounder:

Insert the blade of a sharp knife on one side behind the head and cut in an arc down to the bone. Then achieve the flesh along the sides and across the tail. Insert the knife behind the head and slip the knife down rib cage, cutting the fillet away from the ribs. To skin the fillet, place it skin-side down on a board and starting from the tail, slide a sharp knife between the skin and the flesh.
