Marinated Eel Delicious Easy Recipe.


Eel meat is quite firm with a high fat content and full-bodied, distinctive flavor. The raw flesh is gray but turns lighter when cooked, and it has a small, fine flake.

Marinated Eel Recipe - Simple home recipe how to boil marinated eel in wine vinegar, lemon juice, onions, garlic, thyme, bay leavesthe leaves of sage, garlic, peppercorns and salt. Marinated eel is a very spicy, the flavor dish.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds fresh Eel, cleaned, boned and sliced into 3-inch pieces
  • 1 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup wine vinegar, preferably white
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Flour
  • 1 pound onions, thinly sliced (4 cups)
  • 6 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
  • 2 bay leaves, crumbled
  • 8 peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 cup water

Marinated Eel Delicious Easy Recipe

How to cook Marinated Eel:

  • Wash the pieces of eel thoroughly under cold running water.
  • Place the pieces of eel in vinegar and let it soak for an hour to lose some of its fat.
  • Rinse well under cold running water, drain it well.
  • In a heavy 2- to 3-quart saucepan, heat 1 cup of olive oil.
  • Add the onions, garlic, thyme, bay leaves, peppercorns and salt and cook over moderate heat, stirring frequently, for about 7 or 8 minutes, or until the onions are transparent but not brown.
  • Pour in the vinegar and water, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer the marinade uncovered for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a heavy 10-to 12-inch skillet heat 1/2 cup of olive oil until a light haze forms over it.
  • Brush the pieces of eel with lemon juice. Dip them into the flour and shake off the excess.
  • Drop in 5 or 6 pieces of eel at a time and cook over moderately high heat for 4 to 5 minutes. Add more oil if needed.
  • Transfer the eel to a shallow baking dish (glass jars, porcelain or enameled) and pour over it the hot marinade.
  • When it is at room temperature, cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
  • To serve, lift the pieces out of the marinade and arrange them on a serving plate.
  • Moisten the eel with a little of the marinade and season before serving.
  • Garnish the platter with lemon slices.

This Marinated Eel is a very affordable dish. It is delicious, simple, quick and very easy to cook.

How to boned Eel:

Wash Eel thoroughly up to half an hour in cold clean water. clean the eels with a cotton cloth to remove their natural clammy, then fix the head with nail to the kitchen cutting board. with a very sharp knife open eel lengthwise, remove the bones and entrails, wash thoroughly taking care to scrape off all the blood from the backbone and throat, and then rinse the eels again. Wipe the fish from the entrails and cut into slices.
