Salmon Grutense Argentine Recipe.


Salmon is very healthy due to the it's high protein, high Omega-3 fatty acids, and high vitamin D content. Salmon flesh is usually orange to red, but could be white fleshed wild salmon. The natural colour of wild salmon is coming from eating krill and other tiny shellfish. They change the color and a meat quality when entering freshwater.

Grilled Salmon Recipe - Argentine recipe how to grill salmon steaks with milk, onion, olive oil, lemon juice, and freshly chopped parsley.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Salmon steaks, about 6 ounces each
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 onion, chopped into very small pieces
  • 1/2 cap of olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Salmon Grutense Argentine Recipe

How to cook Argentine Salmon Grutense:

  • Place the salmon and milk in a large saucepan, season with salt and pepper, bring to simmering point and poach gently for about 15 minutes.
  • Prepare a mixture with the onion, parsley, olive oil and lemon juice in a shallow dish, mix it well.
  • Drain the fish and place in the onion mixture.
  • Turn to coat then cover and leave to marinate for 1 hour, turning it round from time to time.
  • Preheat the grill to very hot and line the grill pan with aluminum foil.
  • Transfer the fish to the grill pan and cook for 5 minutes on each side or until lightly browned and heated through.
  • Serve the grilled salmon steaks hot immediately, decorate with fresh tomatoes, lemon slices.

Note:

Argentina Recipes are basically less spicy and hot in nature, owing to extensive use of flavorings like onions, tomatoes, herbs and sweet peppers. The Argentine Name for the Salmon Grutense dish is Las Grutas Salmon.
